If you require urgent primary medical care when your GP surgery is closed telephone your nearest GP Out-of-Hours provider. GP Out-of-Hours services operate from 6pm each weekday evening and 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Contact us first by telephone. Note that GP Out-of-Hours do not insert or remove stitches, and cannot do blood tests or xrays.
Please note if the condition is potentially immediately life-threatening (e.g. suspected heart attack or stroke) telephone 999 directly. Details are also available of other Out-of-Hours services that you can contact directly.
Did you know that for minor ailments such as athlete’s foot, cold sore, diarrhoea, ear wax, headlice, dhobie itch, mouth ulcer, threadworms or thrush you can go directly to your local pharmacy for advice and treatment. The pharmacy rota shows the pharmacies on rota on Sundays and public holidays. Self-help information is also available.
Please remember to collect any repeat prescriptions from your daytime GP practice before the weekend or a public holiday. GP Out-of-Hours will only provide repeat prescriptions in exceptional circumstances.
